"RE: planning application number 02F/2852 (Concerning Greyhound
Racing in England)
Thank you for your email. I am already considering the issues raised
as I have had a number of identical emails. When this happens I assume
that people do not actually care enough about the issue to write me
an individual letter. It saddens me that you do not really care about
this subject".
In this busy world, it is difficult to find the time for one's own pleasures,
let alone to hand write specific letters to hundreds of individuals
in the name of a "just cause". It does not mean the sender does not
100% believe in the cause they are writing about. Thank God for those
who provide us with sample letters we can send; letters that represent
what we believe in. To be criticized for sending form letters about
a worthy cause is pompous and callous to say the least. The very fact
that people take the time from their busy lives to send emails....shows
that one cares.
Ironically, this two-faced "gentleman" sent ME a form letter in reply.
How do I know? Because others who sent petitions received the same letter
from him. Now what does that tell you about "caring". Seems to me this
is an avoidance of the issue at hand, that issue being the torment that
animals are being subjected to on a continuous basis, while officials
turn their heads the other direction.
Perhaps these dignitaries are too busy picking out new Oriental rugs
for their estates, partying with fellow diplomats or figuring new ways
to obtain revenue from the masses to care about the suffering of God's
innocent creatures.
Needless to say, in my shock and anger at receiving his email,.....I
then replied back to him with a "personal email" as he claimed I should
have done. However, somehow I believe, anything I could say would fall
on deaf, pompous ears. God help the animals, and us all, if our lives
and fates lie in the hands of such indifferent dignitaries.

KUDOS TO MARIA LOPES for her reply to the same letter which she received from
this councilman:
Dear Mr._______,
I am receiving some emails from people that are forwarding me your answer
considering the above mentioned issue. For your reference, your form response
is reproduced at the base of this email. It's regrettable that you accuse
these people of not caring enough about the issue, just because they are
sending form letters. Nonetheless you Sir, are replying to everyone with
form answers which seems more than a little hypocritical. In addition,
your letter is worded in a most impolite and offensive manner. I would
have expected better from a City Councillor. For many of the people that
are writing to you on this issue, English is a second language and the
composing of a letter that would be understandable to you is no small
matter. I suspect that you would not appreciate receiving emails in French,
Spanish, Italian or Portuguese, nor would you reply to them in these languages.
For this reason they have chosen to use the supplied sample email. What's
your excuse?
