A Screen Shot is smaller than the actual images in
the design. You are looking at one large screen capture of the
original page onto which each graphic was placed. PRISCACARA FOSSIL FISH About the Design: This Priscacara Fossil graphic suite was created
from an actual pastel drawing that I made of one of my own Priscacara
specimen. In keeping with the siltstone matrix in which the fossil is
found, the main background resembles, in both color and texture, a natural
sedimentary siltstone rock. The decorative background framing the entire
layout was created using reverse images of the fish tail. A fossil enthusiast
might consider this design for displaying photos of a collection. A snap shot of the side bordered square used in the
left column of a table can be seen at the bottom of this page. About the Images: Home, Next, Back, Enter, Email, Links and Rings

This Graphic Design is intended to be used by those serious about creating
a webpage. Resolution:
Since you are looking at images that are approximately 70% of their original
size, resolution is lower on Screen Shots than on the actual graphics
in a design. Background Information: The fossil fish, that provides the inspiration for this pastel drawing, came from the ancient lake Uinta, which is part of the Green River Shale Formation of western Wyoming. It dates back to the Eocene Epoch, approximately 50,000 years ago. At that time, drastic changes occurred in the form of possibly climatic changes or major volcanic eruptions, and a massive die-off of marine life took place. Therefore, this region of Wyoming has yielded an abundance of fossilized fish specimens for the collector. Priscacara accounts for approximately 2% of the fossils retrieved from the area. While they can reach sizes of up to 14 inches, the average specimen is 4-5 inches long. Its "sunfish-like" appearance makes the specimen easily identifiable. The dorsal fin spines were, no doubt, a defense against predators. Priscacara fed on insects and their larvae, as well as small crustaceans. This design was created from an actual pastel drawing that I made of one of my own Priscacara fossils. INTERESTED IN PURCHASING THIS DESIGN FOR PERSONAL OR COMMERCIAL USE?Fees and Services
